Notes

Yo Jason:

Three tracks. Two versions of the gospel/slow jam theme "Out" and one of the Big Man theme "Alley."

  1. Out - Full Version 10.3MB
  2. Out - Instrumental/Choir Version 10.3MB
  3. Alley - Big Man Theme 5.4MB

Out - Full Version. With lead vocal. Extends beyond fade for about a minute of just piano and guitar.
Out - Instrumental/Choir Version. Without lead vocal, just backup vox. Otherwise the same.

Both versions of "Out" are about 7:30. About 6 minutes of the real song, and then some extra piano/guitar noodling. Should be enough there for you to use a snippet here or there as background music in some scenes. Lemme know if you need a version with no vocals at all.

Alley - Big Man Theme. Assuming the version you gave me is the final edit, if you start it exactly at the frame where Big Man enters - like 4:21 or 4:22 on the tape you gave me - it should match up pretty well through to Isis at the subway, where you can fade it out. You can also fade out after Big Man if the drum beat is cluttering things, but the Spike walk and slo-mo part looks really good when the guitars come in.

These are fairly high quality mp3s at 192kbps, but let me know if you want me to send you an actual CD.

I'm also mixing the new song for SPY LOVE BOX tonight, so I can give you an instrumental version of that, too, if you want something else to play with.

Here's the lyrics to "Out" so you can follow it.

A bullet is leaving a chamber and I'm at the space in between.
I don't want to fight it. I am weak.
If it ain't one thing it's the other thing. I am tired.
A bullet is leaving a chamber.

So niggas up and outta here. Niggas got to go.
When you and me is up and outta here we won't be niggas no mo'.

A train is leaving a station. Isis a vision in white.
She knows me better than I know myself. I don't wanna fight it.
She sees right through me right through me. I am tired.
A train is just leaving a station.

So niggas up and outta here. Niggas got to go.
When you and me is up and outta here we won't be niggas no mo'.
Baby look to the sky. We gonna follow the drinking gourd.
Baby look to the sky. We goin' up north.

And yo though I creep in this alley in the shadow of death
I will fear no evil for the Lord gave me you.

A soul is leaving this Earth. For old times Big Man got one mo'.
I don't wanna fight it. Maybe I won't be no nigga no mo'.
And Dap say: "You are not niggas. You never was no niggas."
But what the hell does he know? What the hell does he know?
A soul is just leaving this Earth.

So niggas up and outta here. Niggas got to go.
When you and me is up and outta here we won't be niggas no mo'.
Going home to see Jesus. Won't be no nigga no mo'.

A bullet is leaving
a train is just leaving
a nigga's just leaving this Earth.
